I’m a sucker for great speeches and especially commencement speeches at different universities. One of my favorites was Conan Obrien’s 2000 Harvard speech and there are many others which I’ve enjoyed reading (and now many you can watch online). This year’s winner in my book has to be Admiral William H. McRaven’s commencement address to his alma mater, University of Texas. Admiral McRaven is a Navy admiral, former commander of SEAL Team 3 and current commander of the US Special Operations Command — and the man who led the mission to get Osama bin Laden.
He laid out 10 reasons for how these college graduates can change the world but of course these life lessons should apply to everyone. It’s only 20 minutes so I highly suggest giving it a watch!
